Our Flight to Sentosa Island

We’re not asking for much, we just wanted to live a life worth living, to laugh our hearts out and to travel the world.

In the afternoon on the first day included an adventure in Sentosa Island. We were fetched by our lady driver in our hotel at 1: 00 P.M. We were with other tourists from Cebu whom we encountered when we first arrived in the airport. When we were told that the only way to get to the island is through a cable car, my friends got horrified because they were afraid of heights, luoya! hahaha.

We stopped at Mount Faber Station where the Cable Car Station was located, and our lady driver oriented us on what to do and where to go. Instructions were not so clear because she wasn’t fluent with English and she was speaking real fast. She also instructed us about the shows that we needed to witness, and where and what time she would fetch us later at night. Because of excitement, we hurriedly go upastairs and redempted our tickets so we can ride in a cable car. From the redemption booth, we reviewed what the lady driver has instructed us but we could hardly remember anymore, hahaha. We only depended on the brochures and maps available in all redemption booths.

CABLE CAR RIDE

From Mount Faber Station, we rode in a cable car together with our Cebuano friends. It can only carry a maximum of 8 persons. It was a fun way to fly from Singapore’s only hilltop destination to various attractions in Sentosa Island. I was thrilled while my friends and other companions were nervous. We passed by Harbourfront Station until we reached the Sentosa Station where we will spend half of the day for fabulous adventures. We redempted our tickets and checked our map to get to our first destination. Note: A map is necessary to avoid getting lost in the island.

MADAME TUSSAUDS

Madame Tussauds was a wax museum founded by a wax sculptor Marie Tussaud, hence the name. We started with a “Spirit of Singapore” boat ride where it featured a 4d presentations with all of the famous attractions in Singapore.

After the ride, one must get ready to photograph and pose with favourite iconic personalities in the world may it be in sports, hop on stage with music legends and come face to face with international icons from Singapore, Asia and the world

MERLION IN SENTOSA

Sentosa was a home to an exciting array of themed attractions, award-winning spa retreats and resort accomodations with lush gradens, mini zoo, awesome beaches and luxury residences.

We kicked off this awesome Sentosa adventure with a visit to Sentosa’s Merlion Lair. Yes, aside from the Merlion Park a the Marina Bay, there was also a Merlion Lair in Sentosa Island. Lions were everywhere indeed!

OCEAN WORLD

Crab species!

Singapore was like a paradise full of huge aquariums. You can see them everywhere. Amazing!

Lovely jellyfishes!

DOLPHIN WATCHING

We also watched an amazing dolphins and seals show after visiting the Merlion. We were together with a crowd of Indian people which we thought that there was a celebration.

Amusing Dolphins!

Talented Seals!

After the show, we rode in a bus going to Siloso Island where we witnessed the award-winning Singapore show, The Wings Of Time. We never had an idea of what to expect from the show but we were very excited to watch it. Since it was still early, we dropped by a souvenir shop and bought some stuffs for our loved ones. We also ordered food for dinner while waiting for the show to start at 7:30 P.M.

WINGS OF TIME SHOW

WINGS OF TIME was a mesmerizing multimedia lights and sounds musical show with an amazing display of water, lazer, and fire effects, with a backdrop of the open sea at night. Everyone was impressed. It was one of the best shows in Singapore so far.

We went immediately to our meeting place together with our Cebuano friends. We waited for our lady driver for a long time but she did not arrive so we were already worried.

To cut the story short, we ended up riding in a taxi because she left us without even exerting effort to find us. We were informed that she arrived in the terminal just a few meters walk from where we waited. Hello we were tourists, so we were all unfamiliar with the place. That was never a good service and we already reported it to their management to give her a lesson. That was a result of miscommunication because when she oriented us, we also never bothered to ask questions, excited man gd kaau! hahaha.

Well, anyway that was part of our adventures and we learned from that experience as well.

In general, our first day in Singapore was all worth our money, time, & effort. At the end of the day, what mattered most were the memories we’ve created and the experiences that we will never forget.

Thank you Lord for the provision to travel to Singapore to be able to enjoy this once in a lifetime opportunity to explore the wonders of your creation.
